LAKSHYA: Make Smarter Career Decisions

Indus Crossing is an e – varsity of the future focusing on Life Skills. It is an initiative by a group of dynamic professionals & Educators with more than 200+ man years of industry experience. They are well versed with various facets of Industry and Academics.

We at Indus Crossing are focused on Developing Effective Learning solutions, Establishing new Methods of Life Skills Training. We focus on the Skill Sets of the Learners & work towards bridging those gaps. We believe in 'listening to and understanding the voice of the learners'.

We have designed a series of interactive workshops and seminars for school students, teachers and parents, keeping in mind the glaring skills set gaps being faced, which impacts their performance both on Academic & social levels.

The workshops are Experiential Modules and are more Activity/Games oriented, with 30 participants per workshop. The emphasis here is more on the learning of the participant.

The Seminars are interactive sessions wherein the faculty share the key learnings in a class room setup. These are interactive in nature, to promote mass participation. Typical participation levels would run up to 150-200 participants per seminar.

Programs for the Young Adult:
These programs are targeted at the young student, from 8th standards and above.

Launch Program: For a launch, we normally offer the following program, to initiate the students and the Mentors to the world of learning by doing.

A typical one day workshop will have the following format with a 15 minute tea break after each session and a lunch break after two sessions.

These programs cover the following:

For the Young Adult: These programs are aimed at students from 8th Standard till 10th Standard.

1. Enhancing Memory:
This program is designed to help the student understand the various facets of memory management, e.g. sensory, short term and long term memory. It inspires him / her to appreciate that (s) he is capable of achieving much more by proper use of his / her memory. Various memory enhancing exercises are unfolded and the student is encouraged to exercise his mind accordingly.



2. Stress Management: This program is designed to help the student understand what is stress, what are the causes, its benefits and harmful effects and how does one overcome the bad effects of stress. Various stress busting techniques are also discussed and the student is encouraged to apply them in his / her day to day life.

3. Effective Study Habits: This module helps the child uncover the intricacies of managing his / her studies in a most cost effective manner. Various techniques for achieving concentration are discussed and practiced and the student is encouraged to apply it in his / her daily life. This is designed as a full day workshop, but can also be delivered as a half a day seminar.

4. Personal Vision & Goal Setting: This module highlights the importance of a personal vision in our efforts to succeed. It will help the student understand how to set his / her life time goals, how to derive the short term and immediate goals from the same. It will also introduce the child to the concept of daily planning and time management.


5. Art of Public Speaking: This day long workshop is targeted to help the student in his / her delivery of speeches and presentations. It covers the basic communications cycle, the strategies to overcome fright, audience analysis, planning and preparations for presentations, frameworks and simple tips.

6. Verbal and Non Verbal Communications: This day long workshop is intended to highlight to the students the importance of body language and other non verbal communications. It will try to unfold the understandings of non verbal communications, and the various types of this mode communications. Kinesics, paralanguage and proxemics and other sciences associated with non verbal communications will be introduced. Cultural differences and their impact on communications is another area that will be emphasized.


7. Interpersonal Communications: This module covers group discussions and introductions. It highlights how the quality of content, comprehension of core ideas, logical reasoning and communication skills, clarity of thought, body language and eye contact, team work and leadership are assessed in any group discussion. Simple tips to be adopted during the elocution, presentations, speeches and demonstrations are briefly covered.


8. Personality Profiling: A detailed personality profile of each participant will be provided at the end of the workshop. This will give the detailed strengths and weaknesses of each of the participant on each of the sixteen main personality factors. Career options based on the individual strengths can then be suggested.


For the Mentors: These programs are targeted at the Parents and Teachers. The primary mode of delivery is the workshop.

1. ABC of Stress Management: This module is targeted at the parents and teachers. Apart from covering what are stress and its benefits, it talks about the correlation between stress and personality, the stress profile and managing stress. It also covers meditation and relaxation techniques.

2. Innovative Teaching Methods: This module will expose the teachers to different methods of training, based on which they can make an informed choice, depending on the need, the group, the time available and the infrastructural resources available, to attain deliverable training objectives.

3. Psychological Well Being: The module on psychological well being introduces the participant to positive and negative emotions, how they are related to our needs, how to maximize positive emotions and cope with negative ones, what is happiness, causes of mental health, characteristics of positive health and strategies for enhancing positive emotions.


4. Understanding Self / Personal Growth Lab: This is a module designed to gain an insight to one's self. Our performance is a function of our awareness of our 'self'. This module helps us understand our 'self' better. Self Awareness, Self Acceptance, Self Love, Self Esteem, Self Image, Self Discipline, Self Control and Self Assertion are areas that will be touched upon in this workshop. This will enable the participant to gain Self Confidence and attain happiness.

5. Personal Vision and Goal Setting: This module highlights the importance of a personal vision in our efforts to succeed. It will help the caretakers understand how to set their life time goals, how to derive the short term and immediate goals from the same. It will also introduce them to the concept of daily planning and time management, which is the bane of today's harried life.

6. Interpersonal Communications: This day long workshop introduces the caretakers to the concepts of Transactional Analysis and its utility in daily interactions. Structural Analysis describes the relevant part of the individual personality, while Game Analysis is the analysis of the ulterior transactions leading to payoffs. Script Analysis covers the specific scripts that we have written for ourselves and enact in our day to day interactions with people. This workshop helps uncover all these difficult concepts in a lucid manner.
